Unlocks the eating animation upon consuming food through vanilla hotkeys. Comes with optional support for Core Survival.
I have found a simple way to unlock the vanilla eating animation for the player character, by attaching a script which uses the OnActorEquip event when you equip specific food items real-time. Because I wanted the player character to come to life a bit more, in terms of roleplaying.
Technical limitations:
- The idle may not start when you equip food within the inventory menu, you'll have to manually assign the food items to a hotkey (by hovering the cursor over the listed item and pressing either of the 1-8 buttons).
- I have technically included support for drinks as well in the script, but for some reason the DrinkMug idle won't start, despite that I thought I had set up the conditions of the idle correctly. Not sure if it has something to do with that one being a looping animation.
- For more humane reasons, I didn't cover just about any ingredient, especially not meats with negative alchemical effects (like mort flesh or
rat meat), neither daedra hearts or flour.
Now I only wish there was someone capable of unlocking sleep animations for the player as well, I tried my hand at creating such a plugin but failed miserably to get it to work as intended, so that's beyond my personal knowledge.
This mod here was mostly a proof of concept, somebody might end up making something more advanced, and I completely support that!
But I hope people appreciate this little add-on.
Installation:
You can download the archive and install it with a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, OR you can manually extract the .esp file into the following destination-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data
Then you add "LetsEat.esp" or "LetsEatCoreSurvival.esp" as a new row into the Plugins.txt file
