Cthulhu is now completely playable! Drive the world insane!

A sunburnt sailor stumbles into your office. He claws at your desk screaming of an island in the south Pacific, a nightmare corpse-city of frightening geometries. He is clearly mad, but his yellowed eyes shimmer with knowledge.

As your guards move in to restrain the sailor, he collapses. With inhuman strength, he pulls you close and whispers his final words with briny stench - "In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming."

Call of Cthulhu adds Cthulhu and his cults to the world. Nations risk corruption for power in these times of strife. But the more power they gain, the more they risk falling mad into Cthulhu's clutches.

How it Works - The Basics

The war against Cthulhu must be fought on battlefields and in the mind of the populace.

Over time, the Cultist ideology grows in various countries (primarily non-aligned and un-factioned). Nations with cultists gain access to powerful decisions which boost their abilities and Cultist ideology. Nations can balance out this ideological corruption by taking on penalties. In addition, the higher a nation's belief in Cthulhu, the more extreme events it gets.

If a nation goes above 50% Cultism for too long, cultists take control of the government and they join Cthulhu's faction. The nation gains powerful abilities, but bleeds stability and must fend off terrible events. At low stability, it is puppeted by Cthulhu for a stability boost. When it reaches low stability again, crippling effects start to destroy the nation.

Cthulhu awakens and declares war on the world shortly after 100% world tension. Now, nations can hire powerful occult hunters to ward off the cultists. If Cthulhu capitulates, all of the Cthulhu powers and benefits stop functioning.

The question is - can the nations of the world fend off Cthulhu's attacks until the cultist nations break apart? Or will the squabbling humans become easy prey for the elder god?
